The Limetree PHONO II has two separate input stages that are perfectly adapted to the type of pickup. This ensures maximum sound quality with MM and MC cartridges. 
The installation is extremely easy: plug in and get started. Only for MC there is a variable setting of the input impedance between 50 and 400 ohms. The measured values ​​of the PHONO are exceptionally good in every area. Noise and distortion values ​​are at the resolution limit.

Technology

The Limetree PHONO II takes up a circuit principle from the time of tube amplifiers. However, this concept is being completely reinterpreted using the latest technologies and components.

The two-stage circuit with a passive RIAA network for equalization uses the best J-FET amplifiers currently on the market and particularly high-quality resistors and capacitors from Japan. The world's best amplifier module is also used for MC, which combines outstanding measured values ​​with excellent sound.

The purely passive equalization has a decisive advantage: the distortions in the bass range are significantly lower than with the circuits usually used.

A "medical grade" plug-in power supply unit is used for the power supply, which ensures a particularly high level of isolation from interference in the power supply system. Together with the complex filtering in the device and special voltage regulators, a particularly low-interference power supply with noise levels below 10µV could be implemented.
