The digital outputs of the Limetree BRIDGE II can be perfectly adapted to the input of the D/A converter used. First, the maximum permissible sample rate of the connected D/A converter is set. In a second step, the audio data from the streaming platform is adjusted using a high-quality sample rate converter from studio technology so that all resolutions can be played back without any loss of sound. We only use binary multiples for upsampling and downsampling: x1, x2, x4, x8. So 192 kHz becomes 96 kHz or 48 kHz and 44.1 kHz becomes 88.2 kHz or 176.4 kHz. Two different operating modes (strategies) can be set: up-sampling to the highest possible value or bit-perfect playback without up-sampling.

Technology

The circuitry of the Limetree BRIDGE II is optimized for the best signal quality around the powerful streaming platform. All music files are post-synchronized with a high-precision femto clock and a sample rate converter from studio technology. The data processed in this way is free from "jitter", the most common cause of poor digital sound. The particularly stable digital signal of the Limetree BRIDGE II leads to an audible increase in the sound quality of many older D/A converters.

A high-quality "medical grade" plug-in power supply unit is used for the power supply, which ensures a particularly high level of isolation from disturbances in the power supply system. Together with the complex filtering in the device and special voltage regulators, a particularly low-interference power supply with noise levels below 10 µV could be implemented.
